In December 2008, Dr. Alfred Ulrich and his co-workers founded the Kölner Labor für Baumaschinen (KLB) at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (CUAS). The KLB is an integral part of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Renewable Energies (LTRE).
The increase in research activities and cooperation
with industry partners has led to the consolidation of these activities under
the name Kölner Labor
für Baumaschinen (KLB).
In the process of building
a mobile work machine expertise center, research activities have been broken
down into four fields:
1. Energy Efficiency in Work Processes, Work Functions, and Drive Train Technology
2. Interaction Between Working Tools & Material
3. Automation of Work Functions
4. Vehicle Dynamics - Driving Safety - Driving Comfort
Through the conceptual design, modeling and development processes for their R&D cooperative projects, KLB is able to offer services throughout the entire design process – from idea development to product release.
